Augmented Reality Wikibook
DESIGN CHALLENGE
Choose a wikipedia page with around 10,000 words and design a book based on the title, copy and images on that page. This book needs to include a front & back cover, table of contents, and spine cover.
CONCEPT
Upon choosing the topic of "Augmented Reality" (because it sounded cool), I thought it would be interesting to design the book to look 3D in a 2D digital space. Design elements through the use of shadows are used to convey a 3d look in a 2d space by adding dimension to a rather flat page. These shadows can be seen in the book's gutter and folded chapter page corners. The typography on the cover of the book and the images spread throughout are similarly treated with shadows to create depth as if they were coming out of the book.
